Luckenbach

Luckenbach is an unincorporated community 13 miles from Fredericksburg in southeastern Gillespie County, Texas. Named for Carl Albert Luckenbach, son of the early settler Jacob Luckenbach, the town is known as a venue for country music and for its German-Texan heritage.

Cross Mountain

Cross Mountain is located on a historic marl and limestone hill with an elevation of 1951 ft. It was used as an Indian lookout prior to early settlers. In 1847 during the settling of Fredericksburg a timber cross was found on the hilltop.
